Gaile has said several times in her in game chats that the developers designed that run to be possible, albeit slightly difficult.

I was screwing around and tried it myself to see what the fuss was all about.
I got killed the first try but made it on second try, using my own build having never even seen a standard running build.

The droks run is incredibly easy, especially if you have good spawns.

But people make it seem hard because they are all stupid..

Yeah I'm pissed with all the droksrunners row. I spent hours dancing with my necro outside beacons, waiting for the wammo to die.
"bad spanw", "dey made dis harder", "I normolly can this!", "stfu noob i'm exp pro worrior!"

Unless they wear the glads with the 1 piece of knights, I'm not even joining their party now...

The 55monk creator though, that guy must be rich.

Not a stupid question actually.

If you were in to PvP before bathlazar faction points came out, and you needed certain skills, it was there to allow you to "short cut" so you can cap the elite you need quicker.

The other "short cut" for similiar reason is Temple of Ages to Santum Kay to jump to Crystal Desert to get your elite caps from there too.

Notice how the max stat collector items are duplicated in both Crystal Desert and Southern Shiver peaks too.

Also notice with Factions that you start in LA and can easliy get to Temple of Ages and Beacon's and do a similar short cut so you can go after elites via PvE fairly eaisly.

It's there by Design.

my question wasnt about who designed it.... it was about who DISCOVered the run and the build

i expect many ppl made the standard build by posting there findings in a forum like this

person1: i used charge+sprint but kept on being knocked down
person2: add balanced stance
person3: use remove hex for the pesky mesmers

basic example

The creator of the 55 monk build, well, at least who I am led to believe created it would be Wild Child Jak who introduced the build in many forums around the net.

the first person who posted it on Guru was Jelly Samwich. the thread was probably deleted/closed, but that was probably the first place where it was published.

back on topic, the first person who found out about the run from Beacon's to Dronkar's has faded into obscurity.

meaning, we have no idea.

I'd say that most of the very early innovative builds were created by the first group of alpha testers that were playing the game months before release. There were droks runners within a couple weeks of release, and 55's were farming very early too.

Back in the day, people would actually try and fight their way to Droknar's Forge. Probably one of the best experiences you could have, where a single Wurm would mean almost certain doom.

So my bet, someone who fought there with a few characters.

I remember that the first low-health invinci-builds were using low levels characters....because they hadn't come up with 5 sup runes/ grim cesta yet.

Meaning, after they had farmed a bit, they'd level, and getting useless.

What strikes me as funny, is that back then people didn't use the 5 sup-trick probably because "well hey, runes don't stack!" while nowadays we have people running around with 5 sup absorption on their armours...

maybe funny isn't the word i'm looking for...
